Barn Boards

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 31, 2026

In plain words

  • Barn Boards is a private shared task board for people and their AI assistants. It is a free beta. We take no payments, run no ads, and sell no data.
  • You sign in with Google or an emailed link. We do not ask for passwords.
  • We collect your email, your display name, basic Google profile details if you use Google, and what you put on your boards, such as tasks, comments, dates, owners, and history.
  • Task descriptions, close notes, evidence, comment bodies, and the old and new values for description changes are encrypted with a separate key for each board. Titles, project names, owners, dates, statuses, area names, and actor names are not encrypted.
  • An assistant you connect can work on the one board you pick. It cannot delete anything, and it is named on every change it makes. You can disconnect it in Settings.
  • Nothing is deleted in normal use. An owner can delete a board in Settings. Its data is removed 7 days later, and the owner can cancel until then.

How We Protect Your Personal Data

We do not ask for passwords. You sign in with Google or an emailed link. Boards are isolated from each other at the database level. We encrypt task descriptions, close notes, evidence, comment bodies, and the old and new values for description changes, using a separate key for each board. We do not encrypt titles, project names, owners, dates, statuses, area names, or actor names. Leaving a board or being removed from it ends your access at once.

We use commercially reasonable administrative, physical, and technical measures designed to protect your personal data from accidental loss or destruction and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. However, no website, mobile application, system, electronic storage, or online service is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal data transmitted to, through, using, or in connection with the Services. In particular, email, texts, and chats sent to or from the Services may not be secure, and you should carefully decide what information you send to us via such communications channels. Any transmission of personal data is at your own risk.

The safety and security of your information also depends on you. You are responsible for taking steps to protect your personal data against unauthorized use, disclosure, and access.

How We Retain Your Personal Data

Nothing is deleted in normal use. An owner can delete a board in Settings. Its data is removed 7 days later, and the owner can cancel until then. You can delete your account in Settings. Your personal board, and any shared board you are the only member of, is removed after 7 days. You leave other shared boards at once. Your assistant connections and agent keys end at once. Your sign-in is removed after 7 days, and you can cancel before then by signing in. Content you add to a shared board stays on that board after you leave it, including your name in the board's history.

We keep the categories of personal data described in this policy for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described or for as otherwise legally permitted or required, such as maintaining the Services, operating our organization, complying with our legal obligations, resolving disputes, and for safety, security, and fraud prevention. This means that we consider our legal and business obligations, potential risks of harm, and nature of the information when deciding how long to retain personal data. At the end of the retention period, personal data will be deleted, destroyed, or deidentified.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time, and we will provide notice of any such changes to the policy as required by law. The date the privacy policy was last updated is identified at the top of the page. We will notify you of changes to this policy by updating the "last updated" date and posting the updated policy on the Services. We may email or otherwise communicate reminders about this policy, but you should check our Services periodically to see the current policy and any changes we have made to it.
